The Signal app offers community connection sharing on both Android and iPhone.
It helps to move your WhatsApp groups to Signal App
Signal also allows administrators to turn off the sharing of community links
By supplying your phone number and then uninstalling the former app from your computer, switching from WhatsApp to Signal is as simple as creating your profile on the latter. But it’s not possible to natively transfer chats from WhatsApp and Signal. This may be one of the reasons why the software owned by Facebook has made many users stick to it. However, by following some basic steps, there is a solution for transferring the WhatsApp groups to the Signal app. For both Android and iOS users, these are equally relevant.
It is important to remember that the workaround is only available when transferring WhatsApp groups to Signal before getting started with this tutorial. This doesn’t allow your WhatsApp chats to be transferred to Signal. Also, transferring your current WhatsApp community chats to the Signal app cannot be used.
How to move WhatsApp groups to Signal
On your tablet, open the Signal app.
If you have an Android phone, tap the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the screen and tap the New Community option. You can do that if you have an iPhone by clicking the pencil icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
You can either pick any of the members of your party or press the Skip button. At a later point, you should add your community members.
Now, give your community a name. This may be the same name you want to pass to Signal from WhatsApp.
You will now be prompted to invite friends through a connection using a pop-up dialogue box. Just click the pop-up box on the Activate and Share Connection button that is open.
- This will bring a menu to let you find ways to share your group link. Choose Copy from that menu.
- Now, open the WhatsApp group that you want to move to Signal.
- Paste the group link you’ve copied from Signal.
